Step through the rear conservatory, where rattan furniture invites you to pause and enjoy the garden’s quiet charm. Inside, the well-equipped kitchen includes an airfryer, dishwasher, and a tumble dryer tucked away in the garden shed. A shower room off the kitchen offers a handy spot to freshen up after coastal adventures. The spacious dining room features an original bread oven, adding character and a sense of history to mealtimes. In the sitting room, a gas fire glows from a rustic stone alcove, warming the wooden floors. Bay windows flood the space with light, and in winter, glimpses of Bamburgh Castle peek through the trees. Original wooden panelling and latch-and-bolt doors lend heritage charm throughout, while soft blues and whites reflect the coastal setting. Three restful bedrooms, a super-king, a king, and a twin, offer flexible sleeping arrangements, styled with gentle tones and soft textures. The family bathroom includes a bath with a handheld shower, ideal for unwinding after a walk along the dunes. Outside, the enclosed garden is a haven for children and pets, with a lawned area and a sun house for relaxing. As evening falls, it’s the perfect spot to linger with a warm drink as the sky fades and the sea whispers nearby.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Braeburn which is ideally positioned to walk into the centre of Bamburgh. Everything was very clean and well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Although the description mentions a step down into the shower room, it is quite a steep step and depending on mobility issues the step may make accessibility to the shower room difficult as there is nothing to hold on to. A minor point the owners might like to think of providing an information folder for guests to refer to for food recommendations, places of interest, doctors, WiFi etc. There is no information about what can be recycled or when bin collection days are so our black bin was already full to the top when we arrived and it was pure chance that we were in the bungalow when the bin lorry turned up.

We know this area and the Armstrong cottages very well as its our favourite part of the UK and have visited many times. The cottage was the largest weve stayed in and was great from start to finish. Extremely comfortable furnishings, relatively well equipped kitchen and a good shower with great water pressure. The garden was well dogproofed and our boy had a lovely time sunning himself and running around. The only comment would be that a welcomeinformation file might be useful for things like the WiFi code, places of interest, emergency contact etc perhaps helpful for those who havent visited before? Other than that we had a lovely stay in this spacious cottage and were very sad to leave.
A lovely Armstrong Cottage very close to the sea. Big dining room which worked brilliantly for us and the dogs! Bedrooms and lounge very comfortable and a nice kitchen although could have done with a frying pan .
We stayed at this property for a week in January and it exceeded all our expectations. The location is ideal, with easy access to Bamburgh Beach, and the cottage itself has been beautifully renovated throughout with high end finishes. The beds and bedding were excellent quality and extremely comfortable. The cottage is spacious and easily accommodates six people. The shower is powerful, and overall the property feels well thought out and equipped. We appreciated how dogfriendly it is. The rear porch was perfect for the dogs, blankets were provided for them, and the enclosed garden was a real bonus and gave great peace of mind. Lovely extra touches made the stay even better. A fantastic place to stay, we would highly recommend it and wouldnt hesitate to return.
