Someone wrote in the visitors journal that the owner should live for at least one week in their cottage and I think that is the best comment I can make. Practically every surface had instructions on, surely they should be included in the visitors guide book? You had to physically get out of bed to switch the bedside lamps off. There were spider webs and spiders everywhere. The shower did not drain fast enough so we were constantly switching the water off when showering to prevent flooding the bathroomwe did report this to the owner. The WiFi was absolutely terrible, practically nonexistent upstairs. If WiFi is advertised then it should be good, stable and available throughout the propertyagain we did report this to the owner.

Just got home from a week in Quarry Mews, we loved the property, so quiet, but only 10 mins from Bamburgh, and with views of the Farne islands. The cottage was well equipped, extremely comfortable and spacious for two people. Footpaths running across the edge of the cottages which we walked, fabulous walking area and places to visit. Even saw puffins at the Farne islands. Berwick and Cragside both worth a visit. Would thoroughly recommend this cottage and location.

If anything the listing with photos undersells this wonderful property. Great if you like sea locations and views of the Farne Islands, also lovely for walking along the beautiful sandy beaches of Bamburgh.

We had a lovely holiday, the apartment is lovely and in a fantastic location. However, we had an issue with the boiler. It needed resetting on our first full day, which we achieved. The next day, however, the reset did not work. We contacted Andrew as per the instructions and he organised for the owner, Alison, to come and top it up with water. The same thing happened the next day however, and Andrew confirmed that he had a heating engineer coming who then confirmed that the boiler was faulty. None of this is anyones fault. However, it was clear from various instructions e.g. running the hot tap to kick start the boiler and how to reset that it is a common occurrence. On our final morning the owner male not Alison, called before we checked out to find out what we had done etc. because he was concerned to ensure that the next tenants would be okay. Not once did he apologise for our inconvenience. Frankly I found him rude. Andrew, on the other hand, was very helpful. We also had an issue with the fan in the bathroom which stopped working. An electrician was called who removed the isolater switch, claiming that it was dangerous as it was cited inside the shower cubicle. There is a bulb hanging down in the kitchen, near the hob and other by the door in the bedroom. The light on the extractor fan in kitchen does not work. Finally, there were lots of dvds in the cupboard and instructions for the player but no sign of a dvd player! I say all this, just to point out, that perhaps the owners should be checking the property every now and again and perhaps consider spending time there themselves. For example, they would see quickly what an inconvenience it is to stand naked in the bathroom waiting for the shower to heat up and then realising that it is not going to!

Ideal accommodation for two adults seeking a quiet holiday, with easy access to local beauty spots along the Northumbrian coast. Fully equipped for our needs. We are in our mideighties and reasonably active.

We very much enjoyed our time at Quarry Mews. It was exactly as I had expected going by your listing and previous reviews. Two minor things to point out The directions stated turn left at the Bamburgh village sign there is no sign and the Red Barns sign was overgrown with hedge. The bed was king size but the duvet was not. Guests of above average size would struggle to be covered. The weather was much better than expected, the walk along the beach to Seahouses and back was invigorating, Bamburgh and Alnwick castles impressive and both worth a visit. If we did revisit the area this was our first time we would probably look for somewhere nearer Seahouses and its amenities. The only real criticism is of you Sykes it shouldnt have been so stressful to do a simple thing like paying my balance over the phone! You need to sort this out.. not everyone wants to pay via the app.

The place is perfect for a couple looking to spend a week in Northumberland, basing themselves in Bamburgh. It's a nice distance away from the centre of Bamburgh... easy to walk in, yet well away from the busiest part. The layout is great, plenty of space for two. Kitchen facilities all good. Make sure and book for a meal at the Potted Lobster, and take plenty of walks on the beach. Don't assume it'll be summer weather every day, bring enough clothes and you'll be fine.

An excellent property well equipped and comfortable a good position a few hundred yards from the beach near Bamburgh and a mile or so to the town. Seahouses is 3 miles away with a small supermarket and free parking for an hour in the main car park.

Ideal place for our annual winter week in Northumberland. Our 4th visit. Not sure if the wifi is now coming from next door though seems to only work on that side of the house.

A very attractive and comfortable property in a lovely location, very clean and wellequipped. I'd certainly go back again. My only suggestion is that, because I love cooking, the kitchen knives could do with sharpening.

We have stayed in a number of cottages in Northumberland. This one was not one of the best. Every other place was very welcoming and even with a welcome pack. The facilities were basic, nothing luxurious. Now that covid is over we thought that having to strip the beds etc before we left was taking advantage. This was not an inexpensive cottage but there was nothing special.

Very well furnished and decorated accommodation. In a fantastic position, straight across the road to the beach. Only 5 mins to Seahouses with shops, plenty of parking, take aways and harbour. Excellent kitchen and friendly owner.

Lovely property and a great location near Bamburgh Castle, beach and village. Due to the quarry mews being at the front of the site and with people staying in the other property it felt awkward to use all the grounds e.g. the pond area and the seating area.

A wonderful stay at a great property once again. Quarry Mews is perfect for a couple and has everything you might need. We very much hope to be back.

Great property in a fantastic location. Disappointed that there was no outside seating area, especially as we had brilliant sunshine every day. Outside area could be improved. Recycling quite confusing, we ended up taking some home with us!

A lovely comfortable well equipped cottage in a fabulous location close to Bamburgh Castle and with a sandy beach just a short walk away through the car park and over the dunes. Our only criticism is that there is a clear glass window in the upper part of the front door which looked straight through into the ground floor bedroom giving little sense of privacy. An opaque window would have been preferable.

Comfortable property, very quiet, relaxing, with loverly view. Ample parking. Nicely located for both Bamburgh and Seahouses. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon.

Cottage nicely decorated. Not impressed with the.towels, bit basic. Bedroom curtains need to be blackouts, and easier to pull. Couldnt make the cooker work properly, even after calling the owner for help. Finally, this cottage was situated right next to a large family rentable property, which we werent able to see in the picture. Fortunately, unoccupied the week we were there, but would have caused massive privacy problems had it been occupied.

We had a lovely stay great position so near to the beach and just a walk to the village. This is the second time we have stayed here and we will go again. But owners need to not let standards slip. Not spotless like our first stay.

The cleaners need to look up and remove cobwebs from the ceilings in all rooms. Why do we need to strip the beds surely this is a job done by the cleaners and not the customers. But having said that its a wonderful cottage and wouldnt stop me from returning.

Our stay was lovely as were previous visits to Quarry Mews, everything we needed and more, Northumberland is a very special place, tranquil, peaceful with outstanding views. Hope to be back soon.

This is a really comfortable house with everything we needed for a self catered stay. Everything was immaculately clean and well maintained. We immediately felt very much at home. Its in a brilliant location too its very quiet, being far enough away from the road, but its a perfect base for getting out and about in the area. I wouldnt hesitate to come back here again!

A well equipped cottage with everything you need. Ideally situated, just a short walk in to the village or a nice three mile walk along one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the country to the lovely little harbour town of Seahouses. A wide range of places to eat to suit most tastes and budgets .
