Darling Cottage Reviews

Louise
Lovely house, beautiful garden. Cant believe there wasnt a washing line. Kitchen very well equipped. Would benefit from highchair stair gates for toddlers. Lovely big open plan kitchen dining area, a radio 0r tv in this area would be great. Fabulous location, couldnt ask for better. Beautiful house,3 spacious bedrooms, and ample bathrooms.
Darling Cottage is in a perfect location the property is spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped and the open plan kitchen dining area was a perfect place to socialise with the family. The garden was very private and peaceful a lovely space to unwind. Could not fault this property and would definitely return.
Very comfortable accommodation in quiet setting. Loved watching the Swifts zooming overhead! Local beaches and attractions are idyllic for those that don't know already. Highly recommend Darling Cottage.
This is a fabulous property and very spacious there were four adults staying. The kitchendiner is particularly impressive and we spent most of our time there when relaxing in the house. Its very close to the village so an ideal location if looking for the choice to eat out but, due to the excellent facilities, we did this less often than planned. The open outlook at the back enhanced the garden and made it very pleasant when sitting on the patio.
An amazing house,so comfortable and welcoming our second stay, the owners have thought of and provided everything. Excellent location for visiting other places and walking locally but quiet garden for stay at home time. Thank you for wine, chocolates and biscuits very thoughtful. We are already looking to come back next year.
Comfortable spacious property in an ideal location close to Bamburgh centre. Darling Cottage is quiet and peaceful. Ideal for visiting this area of Northumberland. Note to the owners There is grass blocking the guttering at the rear of the property which needs cleaning out.
As a return visiting 3 generation family this Holiday Home always delivers. Wonderful location and owners that obviously care about their visitors. Look forward to returning next Year

Darling cottage is perfect. From start to finish we had the best time. There was everything you needed for a self catering holiday. The beds are comfortable and the house was very cosy. Television has lots of channel choices. Its a 5 minute walk to the vars and restaurants which are lovely. Thus must be the best UK holiday I've had. Thank you.
Lord Michael
When we arrived, I noticed how wellmaintained the building and the outside were. On entering and inspecting the rooms, I noticed that the owners had taken great care of the fixtures and fittings, which were not cheap. The beds were really comfortable. The owners even left dishwasher tablets, cleaning materials, dish cloths and tea towels. In fact, Keith and his good lady couldn't have done more to. make our stay more enjoyable. There was a large file with all the information about the cottage and the workings of the equipment in the cottage, as well as info about surroundin area. This all made our stay more enjoyable. I would recommend this property to anyone, which I have already done to our friends, and if we are up that way again, that's where we will stay. A great big thank you to you both. I'm afraid the only thing that I would say is that the WIFI was a tad slow, but it didn't matter. This did not affect our stay one bit

This is a lovely cottage which is let down by several minor issues that could be easily resolved. Front door handle is very loose and got stuck at one time making the door impossible to lock. Fortunately persistence unjammed the mechanism. Patio door has dropped and is difficult to open and close. I had to repair the towel stand downstairs as very loose. I also repaired the loose bathroom door handle downstairs. The WiFi is abysmal and at times this caused SkyNetflix to hang. The downstairs toilet flush is totally inadequate and the disgusting state of the brush indicates that this is a long term problem. The shower upstairs has inadequate pressure. The oven and hob are difficult to operate. Poor quality knives and scissors. Cleaning could be better. The welcome pack was appreciated.
Tracey
The cottage is amazing, so spacious and had everything we needed. It's location to the beach is brilliant. We will definitely be looking to book again!
A lovely cottage with all mod cons. Very comfortable also. A 3 min walk from village and 10 min walk to beach and castle. Would highly recommend this property. Def intending to book again.
Pauline
Absolutely superb. This is our 3rd stay and it won't be our last. The cottage is huge, cosy, welcoming, beautiful and in the most perfect location. There is nothing more to say. It's 10 out of 10 from us.
Yvonne

Beautiful Family Home on wonderful location. The whole family 3 generations loved it.
An amazing cottage, so comfortable with everything we needed and more, not to mention the welcome gifts. All fixtures and fittings of the highest quality and in a great location. Outside the property was as well maintained as the inside, there was nothing we could find fault with. We would highly recommend Darling Cottage and hope to return in the not too distant future.
Amanda
Comfortable beds guaranteed a perfect nights sleep for all guests. The kitchen was well equipped, lovely spacious room including the dining & seating area. A very bright and clean property, great outside space. The house is set in a perfect quiet location, easy access into Bamburgh. Would highly recommend this property, absolutely perfect.
Michael
Great stay in a cottage that perfectly suited our families needs. A couple of bars of soap would have been good to have left us but the wine biscuits and chocolates were very welcome .

We very much enjoyed our stay at Darling Cottage. Amazed how quiet it was when we were so close to the busy village. We have been to Northumberland on a number of occasions and we can safely say this was one of the best weeks we have ever had there. The layout of the house was spot on and my wife found the downstairs bedroom and bathroom perfect for her. Definately 10 out of 10 on every level.
Darrell
The house was perfect for our stay. Great location, the house was very light and spacious with all the amenities required.
Keith Spencer
An extremely clean and comfortable cottage conveniently situated near the centre of Bamburgh village. Very helpful and comprehensive information provided by the owner regarding use of facilities.
The cottage is very high quality and a credit to the owners. The location could not be better and we hope to return at some point
Perfect spacious and clean cottage in a great location. In good decorative order, all the kitchenware etc you need. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. 10 out of 10. My experience with Sykes was very poor, however the cottage owner was very easy to deal with

Absolutely gorgeous cottage. Everything you could want, immaculately clean, spacious, warm, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Brilliant location just a 5 minute stroll to the local eateries, Grace Darling museum and 15 minute walk to Bamburgh Castle and the beach. Longer walks from the door, no need to get back in the car.
