Wood Sage Reviews

Gillian
A very comfortable luxury lodge in a great location with views of Bamburgh castle. Comfy sofas, comfy beds and great showers. A lovely welcome tray of provisions greeted us on arrival. We loved exploring the area especially cycling from the lodge to Holy Island and Lindisfarne castle. There is a lovely walk on the coastal path via Budle Bay to Bamburgh. Another highlight was a boat trip to the Farne Islands landing on Inner Farne to see the sea bird colonies including the puffins and guillemots. There is lots to do and see in the area and plenty of lovely pubs and cafes close by. We would recommend the Apple Inn at Lucker, the Craster Arms at Beadnell and the Jolly Fisherman at Craster for lunch on the outdoor terrace. Overall we had a lovely week staying at Wood Sage and would love to return in the future.
Fantastic property clean, specious and very comfortable. It's was well equipped and all furnishings were of good quality......beautiful
Perfect location
Wood Sage is a lovely property, very well furnished and maintained. The layout of the house is excellent too. The location is ideal being 2 minute drive from Bamburgh, about 10 mins to Seahouses and 15 mins to Beadnell. We would choose to stay here every time we visit Bamburgh.
Beautiful place, nestled in an old disused quarry. The holiday home was lovely, decorated well and has all the amenities you will need. It really is a home from home. The owners have taken great care of the place. The welcome pack was a nice touch also. When sitting outside you can see Bamburgh castle in the distance. Would highly recommend to friends and family.

Beautiful Lodge in a peaceful location. Three generations enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing week at Wood Sage. It was exceptionally clean and very cosy with eveything you need for a home from home stay. The lodge is well equipped and everything is done to a high standard, it was very comfortable and spacious. It is in a peaceful location with a great outdoor area to watch the hive of wildlife activity in the quarry, and stunning views including Bamburgh Castle, but also close by to many local places we wanted to visit, so a great base for exploring. Communication from the owner Andrea was excellent and we really appreciated the special welcome treats very thoughtful and kind. Thank you. I'm sure we'll be returning to this lovely property. If you are considering booking Wood Sage don't hesitate you definitely won't be disappointed!
Wood Sage is a delightful, well equipped holiday home which the 3 generations of our family really enjoyed. Plenty of hot water for the great showers & a super family friendly living kitchen with log burner. The fire was set for us, we enjoyed the goodies left & the blue skies of Northumbria!
Nalinda
Excellent really high quality and well maintained property with really nice decorative touches. Well equipped with everything you could need. Great peaceful location that is only a few mins from Bamburgh and a short drive to the amenities in Seahouses. Such a perfect spot for a break and beach. We had a small issue at the property with unbelievably helpful and responsive owner who sorted it quicker than I would have thought possible. Great service.
The property is excellent, very well decorated, very homely and in an excellent location. We will definitely stay again

Such a lovely holiday lodge. Comfy, peaceful & very clean. We had 6 adults & one baby and suited us fine. Had to jump in the car to head out for the day but aware of that. You could walk into Bamburgh if you fancied. Beautiful area & great holiday. We have all said we hope to stay again. Lovely memories made with our new granddaughter x

Claire
Well appointed, comfortable lodge. It was immaculate inside, and had much needed outdoor space.
Everything was perfect Couldnt fault it I would highly recommend this property
Superb location, with views across countryside to Bamburgh castle and an SSSI on site! A beautifully designed, fully equipped, spotlessly clean, and very wellmaintained property. A comprehensive welcome pack from the owners, appreciated by all three generations of our family group. Quite simply and by a country mile, the best 'holiday home', in which I've ever stayed and I've been around a very long time. So, overall, not too shabby then.
Nichola
Fabulous holiday lodge. We had a wonderful time. The lodge is fitted to a very high standard with everything provided for. The outside space is lovely on a sunny day. The location is excellent for travelling around Northumberland. The property has a view of the castle. We hope to return in the future. This is one of the best holiday accommodations we have stayed in and we highly recommend it.
Joanne
We were bowled over by the holiday cottage. It is so comfortable and definitely 5 . The owners have gone above and beyond expectations. The holiday park is in a quiet setting, which we liked, but you definitely need a car to get to restaurants, and tourist attractions. We would highly reccomend Woodsage, and hope to come back in the future.
Excellent site with superb facilities
Beautiful cottage situated in an old quarry, a great location a few minutes from Bamburgh. Great facilities, lovely view of the castle from the main bedroom where you can watch the sunrise in the morning. Great facilities, lots of space, wonderful natural light in the whole cottage and a lovely fireplace for cost evenings. Super helpful, communicative host. Car needed, much like all of Northumberland. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
Michael

Fantastic holiday house, immaculate, well equipped and very comfortable. Excellent location for visiting Northumberland. Very exciting opportunity for people with mobility issues, not only is Wood Sage all on the flat, Bamburgh Parish Council have purchased all terrain wheelchairs for the beach! Free to use, visit their website to book. Amazing holiday and would highly recommend this property, we will be booking again!
Wood Sage holiday lodge is set in a peaceful disused quarry. Gorgeous views of the sea, Bamburgh castle and surrounding area from the top. Location is ideal for touring and sight seeing. The lodge itself is immaculate and furnished to a very high standard with a definite feel of luxury!
Fabulous accommodation in an idyllic location. The lodge is very well equipped, warm and comfortable and the Welcome Pack was an unexpected treat. Would highly recommend people to stay at Wood Sage and we would definitely hope to stay there again.
Angela
Beautiful lodge and great location. Highly recommended
Christina
Wonderful. I would have liked to have had chance to return but having checked price. Increases which are too high for an NHS nurse like myself. I fear it will encourage most people to travel abroad again instead of staycations.
Excellent location for exploring the local area. Great facilities
Jackie
What a fantastic property, everything you needed and more. Amazing quality of all furnishings too. Location perfect nice and quiet but you could still walk into Bamburgh. Loved the outside space with a view of the Castle. Northumberland is a beautiful place with lots of places to visit. Would highly recommend this and would love to go back.
We loved the property , it was very comfortable and stylish. The bedding is top quality and the beds very comfortable. We had an issue in that the high chair was not readily available the listing says available and I rang Sykes, who said no need to request as it was available! However the owner was on site and sorted it out immediately. She couldnt have been more helpful. This is a great area to explore and the surroundings are beautiful. The view of the castle was an added bonus The welcome pack was a lovely touch too.
