Robin House Reviews

Beautiful comfortable house, excellent base for touring round
Nice property in a good location close to Bamburgh and other coastal towns. Overall the property could do with some updating and improved cleaning before arrival but was good value.
We found the cottage easily, it's in a good position for visiting all parts of Northumnerland. Comfy bed with nice bedding & comfortable lounge with reclining sofachair. Unfortunately we did not find it 'sparkling clean' as others have stated, there were parts where a good wash with soapy water would make a difference skirting and doors. Parts were very tired kitchen units and whilst the small garden was nice to sit in it was untidy with grass and weeds and spoilt it somewhat. Also there is no shop in the village but it does state there is.
This is a lovely property with awesome views over the fields at the back. Location is excellent for exploring the area. Owner very helpful and friendly. Can't recommend this enough. After wanting to go to the area for a long time , this property certainly did not disappoint and an amazing hol was had by all.
What a wonderful location! So much to do and see in a short distance. Couldnt have asked for better. The property is very well proportioned and has everything you could need. Incredibly comfortable stay. The yard was a real treat in the sunshine. Do hope to be back soon.
Robins house was lovely warm & cosy with everything we could wish for in a holiday home. Super comfy massive bed & loved the recliner chair & sofa. It was lovely sitting out in the patio of an evening with a bottle of wine looking across the fields watching the sun set. Great communication with the friendly owner who was quick to respond to any queries and deal with any problems very quickly we highly recommend Robins House and will definitely be back
Elizabeth
A lovely clean and comfortable property. Very quiet and peaceful. Well situated for visiting local attractions. Unfortunately there is no longer a village shop but theres a garageshop within about a five minute drive.
Fabulous house! ! Extremely clean and comfortable and has everything you could need. In a beautiful little village and very well placed for trips to various beaches. Have already booked for next year!
Stephen
Had a comfortable stay in a lovely little village. House could do with some tlc,but it was warm and clean.
Terence
We had a really lovely stay at Robin House. The house is really lovely, Ultra clean, and had everything we wantedneeded. The bed is more like a super king than a king and is very comfortable. The house is located with a small group of houses and is really quiet. The road next to the property sees very little traffic so is not a problem The secure garden was ideal for our small dog. The location is excellent to see the lovely Northumbria coastline and larger cities like Edinburgh and Newcastle are reachable in about 1.5 hours. A great stay and we are already considering returning to Robin House. Thankyou
This is a homely, comfortable property in an excellent area for visiting the best bits very biased here! of Northumbria. The owner is lovely, a great communicator and very helpful. Wish we were still there.
Ideally located. Arrival went smoothly with no problems. Basic provisions were provided. Comfortable in a nice environment
We enjoyed our stay at Robin house. Very clean and comfortable. And very good amenities. Absolutely spot on for our stay. Excellent location for exploring the local coast and countryside. We took our bikes, and so pleased we did, as there were quiet lanes to explore right from the doorstep. My wife in particular was very disappointed that the bath hot water tap refused to work. No bath for her! My wife opened the bedroom window the first night and dislodged a swallows nest. We were both very upset that it happened. On inspection in the morning it appeared that the nest fortunately was unoccupied, and was being constructed. Perhaps in the future a notice to bring peoples attention to the nests might be appropriate as there were numerous nests under the eaves, but not all visible from inside the house.

The location of Robins House was absolutely perfect for the Northumberland coastline and all that it offers. In that respect this made our holiday a really good one. However we did find the facilities to be a little tired and maybe in need of some TLC in the near future.
Faculties are really good. But a holes spoon and tongs in the kitchen would be helpful. Also a few more bits like foil and cling film would also be a help. We felt the pathways needed jet washing as it was a bit slippery when wet. Otherwise such a lovely place to stay and so comfortable.
Darren
Spotless home from home with a very big comfortable bed. Great base for surrounding attractions.
This was our second stay at Robin House this year. The property is very comfortable and well equipped .The owners thought to put on the overnight heating which was greatly appreciated considering the weather we had when we first arrived. The secure garden was great for our little dog to go out in . The property is also in a great location for getting up and down the coast .
Nicole
Overall well situated to visit many local attractions. Good facilities in terms of kitchen equipment.
Michael
Great cottage has we always use sykes cottages I would highly recommend
Parking is awkward as house is in a narrow cul de sac. Cleanliness was good. Garden needs attention. Kitchen appliances all good. Shower is not good on both pressure and heat settings. Bath is very deep to enter for access to shower and can be a problem for people with any mobility problems. Bottle of bubbly and chocolate is a nice touch. Position of property is good for all attractions.
Blaine
Found the cottage decor and furnishings tired and very dusty, lots of cobwebs along ceilings especially in living room, dust along all picture frames and mirrors. Separate toilet with no hand basin frustrating. Bed was comfortable and clean. We had to wash all cutlery before use. Nice touch of arrival present. No blinds on bedroom windows so had to keep closing curtains when in bedroom. Curtains in main bedroom so thin it was daylight at about 6.30am so no sleep after that.
Kathleen
The owners have thoughtfully provided everything you need throughout the property. Its spacious, warm and very clean with a secure garden for the pup. All the main rooms have large sunny windows even in February. Well situated to explore Bamburghs stunning beach, Seahouses harbour, Alnwick, Holy Island, Amble, Druridge Bay Country Park, Craster for the smokehouse and Berwick on Tweed.
Robin House is a great place to stay. It has a very well equipped kitchen which is a good size, a lovely big window and even a dishwasher. There was bags of hot water and the whole place was lovely and warm even in the depths of winter. The beds are comfy, the whole house has lots of natural light and has a spacious feel. We would definitely stay here again.
Extremely clean and tidy, everything we needed
The house was exactly what we wanted as a base for a fantastic holiday walking and exploring. Set in such a beautiful area The children were particularly excited by the reclining chair whilst having a tumble drier was an absolute blessing for me! Planning to return in the future.
Lesley
Beautiful location and very comfortable house. No oven trays and limited clothes storage. However we did enjoy our stay.
Jennie
Lovely and quiet location. Property bigger than expected. Had a lovely holiday, thank you
Edward
This country house offered us a quiet get away with fields all around and beautiful views. . It has comportable furnishings and beds..we loved sitting out in the garden after a day out..places of interest are 10 mins down the road and beaches that stretch for miles..walking away from the house is the local pub ready to serve you a drink and delicious food..we never found the 'local' shop but there are plenty on your travels..and a large frudge freezer to keep it in ...
The property was in a great location for us to explore Northumberland especially as it was so near to the coast. In terms of facilities, it had everything we needed and was nice to come back to after a day walking. We really appreciated the enclosed garden so our dog was free to go outside without us worrying about her 'escaping'! Also liked the view of the bird feeders from the kitchen. Would recommend as a nice base from which to explore the surrounding areas.
We had a lovely stay at Robins house, a home from home very comfortable and near lots of Northumberland's coastal top visiting spots.
All good apart from the heating the house was cold on certain rooms. The property could do with a hairdryer. Great value, location and spotlessly clean.
Robert
We were looking for a dog friendly house in a village with a great pub this house met our needs. Proximity to the coast is an additional attraction.
Timothy
Great base for visiting the area, comfortable house and good value for money
Excellent location a very quiet road, 5 mins from the A1 and 10 mins to Bamburgh beach. The house itself felt spacious and clean, with very comfortable beds and good quality appliances. It would be nice to have a chest of drawers in each bedroom, as there was only hanging space in the cupboards. A second set of crockery would be useful too. Otherwise, it was ideal.
Noreen
A lovely house, situated in a village close to the Northumberland coast. iA large kitchen with all the white goods you may need, plenty of room for 4 adults and very comfortable beds. Private garden with views over the fields.
Barnaby
Absolutely brilliant location, lovely countryside and close to Bamburgh and Seahouses. Very comfortable, if basic accommodation.
There were problems with broken cupboard door but was sorted very quickly. But the property was not in tip top condition scruffy paintwork a shower that goes hot and cold even when nobody was running water anywhere else. Not much point in having hanging baskets if the plants are all dead. Only a small amount of utensils china. Maybe a bit more storage in bedrooms.
Kevin Thomas
One of the best cottages we have stayed at, really clean and well equipped. Would recommend if we had any recommendations they would be a dvd player and maybe the heightening of the fence facing the field some dogs could easily jump the fence. But overall a lovely cottage we will definately return.
