We stayed for 1 week with our 3 dogs , and Dunlin cottage was a perfect for our needs. Fully enclosed garden was ideal for our dogs , and the cottage was comfortable and well equipped .We enjoyed a long walk on the lovely beach at Bamburgh with spectacular views of the castle . Lots of helpful information from the owner , and a decent sized TV , so we could enjoy quiet evenings in with our furry friends after long walks during the day smart TV so able to log on with our Netflix subscription . Excellent Pizza takeaway service available close by Nothumberland Artisan Pizza Company we would highly recommend .Lots of excellent dogfriendly pubs in the area for lunch. Northumberland is beautiful and this cottage is well situated to explore this part of the country.

Lovely cottage perfect for dogs! We had a really lovely stay at this cottage. Its fantastic for dogs, with a secure enclosed garden and plenty of lovely coastal walks nearby. The location is great too, being central for everything you need while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. The bed was really comfortable, and we loved the log burner and big TV, making it a great place to cosy up after a day out. The only small issue was that the hoover was completely blocked when we arrived. We cleaned it out and it appears it may have been used to vacuum up the fire, as it was blocked solid with debris. Once cleaned, it worked perfectly, so it was easily sorted. Overall, a lovely, comfortable and dogfriendly cottage in a great location. We would happily stay again!

A lovely comfortable cottage with everything you need. Dogs loved the large garden and we enjoyed the wildlife watching from the burn at the back of the property to the birds and bats in the large Willow Tree in the back garden. There was a slight issue with the back door when we arrived that it wouldnt open and the French doors couldnt be used but Peter had someone out within half an hour and it was sorted really quickly. Lovely owners. Great location right next to the road leading into Bamburgh and Seahouses. Across the road from a large nature reserve too which is just stunning. Thank you Janet and Peter for a wonderful stay! We will be back
When we arrived and entered the cottage it was lovely, we ventured out into the garden and the grass was covered in dog poo, it wasn't pleasant to pick up, also the rug and mat in the living room were soaked in dog wee. I messaged the owner of which he apologised, but this is not acceptable. Apart from that the cottage was very comfortable and had everything you needed.

Very well equipped. Literally everything you could need. Enclosed garden is godsend if youre travelling with your dog or children. Good coastal walk only a short stroll from the house. Pull cord on the shower is temperamental, so we left it on all the time. Parking is in a shared courtyard for 4 cottages, which is fine if the front 2 car park properly. Would recommend reversing into your space. We would stay again. If you want to leave the car at home, there is a bus stop at the end of the road with services to Berwick, Belford, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick and Newcastle

Did not realise this property was part of fair sized group. Fortunately all our near neighbours were friendly and pleasant. The property was in a quiet area with little traffic noise and car parking was off the road and close. Comfortable accommodation and a splendid secure garden both very much appreciated. Perhaps a little attention should be made to maintenance. Overall we would recommend this property.
This was our second stay at Dunlin Cottage. It is perfect for our dogs as the garden is big, secure and shaded. There is a lovely walk just across the road through fields where you can watch hares boxing fantastic! And very convenient for Bamburgh as well. I'm sure we will return.
Nice cottage, comfortable settees and beds, well equiped. Although I am afraid there are a few buts, the travel instructions were confused, we used the 3 word app which worked. The kitchen outside drain was blocked and the stair rail at the top of the stairs was loose. I booked this cottage for myself and daughter as we are outdoor people and the garden looked lovely but unfortunately there was so much bird droppings on patio and table and chairs it was unusable, such a shame
Lovely well appointed cottage with a good , safe garden which the dogs loved. Beds very comfortable as were the settees in the sitting room. We enjoyed the log burner and plenty of logs provided for cosy evenings. Good hand rails on the stairs for the more elderly among us. Please note the bathroom is downstairs.

No lock on bathroom door , lounge door , kitchen door did not close so not easy to keep dogs in one room , back door in kitchen was in poor condition. Despite this, we very much enjoyed our stay , beds were very comfortable , kitchen well equipped, this was our second time in this cottage.

It was lovely to arrive to the characterful cottage. Janet and Peter had left us a thoughtful welcome gift of festive cakes, chocolates and wine. We had a lot of cosy evenings in front of the wood burner enjoying them. The dogs loved the big garden. The cottage is just a short costal drive to Bamburgh and all that has to offer. It was our first visit to the area and we will certainly be back.
We are regular visitors and once again have had a great week in a lovely property. Recent re decoration is spot on. We will be back if youll have us!

Lovely warm and comfortable cottage. Very well equipped. Top quality bedding. Great location. Secure garden for dogs .
Claire
The house was nice with a large garden but was a little tired. The settees were grubby and carpets had seen better days. Can't fault the comfy bed and linen provided was spotless. Just needs a bit of a makeover.
Great property in a lovely location. Perfect for a holiday with our 3 dogs with a safe enclosed garden. Bamburgh, Seahouses and the amazing beaches only a short drive away. The cottage was lovely and cozy, particularly loved the log fire, a real treat for us. Has everything needed for a relaxing holiday.
Second time staying at Dunlin Cottage and will certainly be back again. House had everything needed and was very comfortable and homely. The large garden was great for the dogs to run around in whilst we sat and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the area.
We had a fantastic 2 weeks at Dunlin. A perfect location to explore the wonderful coast from and a cosy space to come back to each day. The enclosed garden was perfect for our two dogs and the cottage was perfectly equipped. Spotless on arrival and the cleaner checked in as promised. Part of a tree came down in the high winds and Peter dealt with it promptly the next day. Couldnt fault anything about our stay, absolutely loved in and cant wait to return even if its just for the woodfired pizzas from the caravan park!
The cottage was lovely and clean and a lovely garden. My daughter, partner and sister really enjoyed their week in this cottage whilst ourselves stayed in the adjourning cottage.
Could have been cleaner . Double mattress a Disgrase Badly Soiled .

We absolutely loved this cottage. The garden was big and our dog loved it. The cottage itself had everything you could need and more. The bed was so comfy too and it was spotless throughout. I had to call the owner as I couldnt open the safe lock , he was so lovely and helpful it was me being stupid. We loved it so much, we have booked for next summer!! Thank you for a wonderful experience in a very special part of the world.
Pauline
The cottage was lovely and clean, cosy and had everything we needed, including a properly secure garden for the dogs. Would recommend and would come back.

Our stay booked was from 2nd June through til 7th June 2025. We arrived at the cottage and were greeted by a strong smell of bleach. The cottage is cosy and comfortable. Small welcome pack is a nice touch. It is evident that the owner has furnished it with high end furnishingscrockeryand bedsbedding. It has a fabulous back garden most of which requires cutting back and our hairy kid absolutely loved it! It was great to settle in with the log burner after returning from a long day out. Logs provided are a welcomed addition! We had to complain to the owner as we slept on a discoloured mattress which we have videophoto's of which was marked with lots of various unsightly stains, and when we contacted housekeeper whom we didn't rate highly regarding no waterproof protector on bed, she said she knew and forgot to fit it. We put 2 extra sheets on bed until she supplied a regular used protector next day, and not a new one. The stained mattress is an absolute NO! NO! for anywhere we stay and the money we pay, and sleepcomfort is THE most crucial element of our stay, and the stains could not be unseen. It is sucha shame previous guests have disrespected the mattress by leaving these disgusting stains which the housekeeper obviously saw and knew about,! as the owner has paid such an expense for the high quality of it. Other negatives included no fire mitt, oven mitt, kitchen back door requires looking at, no shower mat in bath, kitchen chair broken, amongst other niggles that the owner said she would correct. The cottage is lovely and peaceful and in a great location to explore surrounding areas. We washed sofa throws and cushion covers, and disinfected the floors, hoovered, and stripped bed in property and stocked the log burner before leaving in order for next guest's arrival, because that's the type of guests we are. Early June is a great time to visit.
Great cottage, perfect for us and our 4 dogs. Everything you needed in the cottage lacked for nothing. Great sized enclosed garden which was ideal for the dogs. The only slight problem was the gate at the bottom leading to the river not closing properly. Just needs some attention for safety reasons. We tied a lead to it to keep secure so all was ok. We will definitely be booking again.

There was an issue when we arrived due to unforeseen circumstances, contacted the owner who sorted things out very quickly and then went the extra mile to make it up to us. Beautiful setting and really comfortable cottage. Would definitely stay there again
What a beautiful little cottage. Lovely secure garden for the hounds to run freely in. Peaceful tranquil location but a 5 minute drive to Bamburgh and a further 5 to Seahouses. The cottage was clean and warm. The log fire a welcome addition during the evenings. Well looked after cottage, clean and welcoming. We shall return. if there was one minor recommendation it would be that the shower is upgraded to something with a little bit more gusto. Otherwise a lovely experience
Lovely cottage, great garden for the dog and really lovely walks all around us. The cottage was ideal for us and a large dog and I'd like to think we will return. We even had a black bird nesting in the woodshed made collecting wood a more delicate operation but was such a privilege to see from a distance. Thoroughly recommend.
Lottie
Absolutely gorgeous little cottage, it's cosy, comfortable and so wonderfully peaceful. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet retreat in a beautiful setting. Thank you for letting us enjoy your lovely property!

We had a lovely break away at Dunlin, which is a really cosy cottage in a pretty hamlet in a great location for coastal adventures. Our hosts were fabulous, very easy to communicate with and more than happy to help. Great information booklets with everything you need to know. Good supply of logs for the cosy log burner. Incredibly comfortable bed and great pillows, well equipped and some lovely original features. We would definitely book again. Carolyn and David

We were surprised to find that this cottage is part of 4 cottages that face into a communal courtyard rather than being end of terrace. The cottage was disappointing from the start, the approach through the courtyard had not seen a broom in a long time and once inside there were long black dog hairs floating on the kitchen and living room floors and a musty dank smell in the living room which filled the whole of the downstairs. The cause of this smell was a filthy mop and old water left in a bucket tucked in the cupboard under the stairs. Our holiday was abandoned early Tuesday morning as we felt we could not continue to stay in the cottage. We had problems the first evening Saturday with the bathroom light flickering and this was reported to the manager straightaway, the flickering caused a strobe effect and so we had to use a torch whenever we needed to use the bathroom. The following day a blocked drain at the front of the property was again reported to the manager. The blocked drain poured water into the communal courtyard and across the front door. The owner contacted us on Monday to say an electrician would be in to sort the light that day and the gardener would take a look at the drain when he was in some time that week. Sadly, the electrician did not turn up and so the light was not fixed, when the owner was notified that this had not happened and sent a video of how bad the flickering was by WhatsApp, he replied that these issues drain and light would not normally be considered urgent and was keen to point out that he had responded to our concerns and was dismissive in his tone. Yes, he had responded to the messages but had not sorted the problems out. The cottage was dirty with old dusty cobwebs hanging off the kitchen light, dirt accumulating around the skirting boards and across the sockets and storage heaters. There were dead flies and cobwebs at the kitchen window. There is a large gap between the kitchen floor tiles and cupboard kick boards which is full of dirt which is difficult to clean. There are 4 cracked floor tiles in the kitchen. The washing machine displays a PAT testing label stating it is due a test in 2013. There is a fire risk assessment in the information folder that is for a completely different property. The extractor fan and light is not working, and there is damage to the worktop. The owner had been notified of these problems back in April 2024 via on online Sykes review and he had replied that this would all be sorted forthwith, however all the issues raised back then remain untouched The bath panel is damaged and could easily cause significant harm if we had accidentally walked into it. There are also broken tiles to the bathroom walls. The shelf in the bathroom is so wobbly you cannot stand anything on it. The light shade to the landing light is so full of cobwebs and dust it looks horrible. When I go away on holiday, I do not expect to have to clean the minute I walk into a cottage, and I certainly do not find it acceptable to have to use a torch when using a bathroom or for my husband to shave by torchlight. After leaving early Tuesday morning and returning home the owner was notified and photographs of all the above was sent to him so that he could tackle the issues raised. He has chosen not to respond or even acknowledge receipt of photos. We have had no other option but to escalate this to Sykes.

We all have a fantastic time. Dogs kimi, jess , Buddy, and Dorra had a great running on the beaches it was lovely to come back to a cosy and warm cottage after a brisk walk on the beach. There where plenty of logs for wood burner which we really loved . Beds nice and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped . Garden was nice and large plenty of place for dogs to play . Unfortunately, weather was a bit to cool for us to sit out in garden. All pubs we visited in local area were dog friendly great staff and lovely meals
Andrew
Lovely accommodation, kitchen had everything you would need including a large fridge and freezer, bedrooms were a good size and beds comfortable, lounge was also a good size with a log burner and plentiful supply of logs. Accommodation is approx 2.5 miles outside of Bamborough in a really peaceful and quiet area, Budle Bay virtually outside the door and ideal if you are into twitching. Great value for money.
Lovely well equipped. Kitchen Comfortable lounge excellent complimentary log pile ..lovely garden We took hot water bottles the upstairs and the kitchen was a little cool storage heaters not very efficient We had an excellent stay
Doreen
We had a wonderful time at Dublin, the cottage is warm and comfortable with everything you in the kitchen, sofas and beds were very comfy. We had four dogs with us and they loved the garden, which is fenced and secure, which gave us peace of mind to have a cuppa in the garden and let the dogs wander around. I will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
Steven
