Andrew

Excellent place for all weathers and requirements. Warm, dry, clean, comfortable and fully equipped. Would happily stay again. PS although great for dog owners, we're not, and didn't detect any trace of them the dogs, that is. Furfree!

We spent a wonderful week at Adderstone Cottage. Colin and Judith contacted us prior to our arrival and were very helpful during our stay. The cottage is very well appointed and we especially appreciated the Sky TV and variety of games.

Jennifer

A true gem, with all the modern facilities and stunning traditional features. The cosy lounge for late evening, the conservatory for your morning coffee with beautiful views and the comfiest bedrooms Adderstone Cottage has everything. We loved our early mornings sitting in the garden chatting to the cows as the came down from the farm. We could not of wished for a better 'home' for our holiday. We would highly recommend and will be back. Thank you xxx

We had a wonderful time staying in Adderstone Cottage. The cottage and its garden were delightful. It is beautifully presented and the facilities were of a high standard the beds were comfortable, there are plenty of bathrooms, and a big TV in the lounge with Sky TV. The kitchen was very well equipped. The owner communicated to us prior to our arrival to make sure that we had everything we needed, and was very friendly. The setting surrounded by fields with lovely views was perfect. The location was good, with easy access for Bamburgh, Holy Island, Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick Castlegardens. There is no shortage of things to do, we could have stayed another week!

Clean, comfortable, well equipped and furnished cottage.

The cottage was perfect. A beautiful setting in countryside, but 2 minutes to the A1 from which you could access all the beautiful towns and villages in the area. Inside the cottage was equipped with everything you could need, with the emphasis on cleanliness, comfort and practicality. Best break weve had in years

James Anthony

We were very impressed with the standard of accommodation. It was easy to find and ideally located, being within easy reach of the A1 and the coast.

Our 5th stay at Adderstone Cottage and it feels like a home from home. Warm and comfortable, with plenty of room for 6 adults, and a well equipped kitchen. We appreciate plenty of mugs etc so not having to constantly wash up. The conservatory is lovely. There are loads of things to do in the area and we are still discovering new places. Would highly recommend.

Jennifer

The cottage is set in a lovely area but has its issues. The bedrooms are lovely and clean but the bathrooms and kitchen let the cottage down. Flooring in the hallway needs attention too. It states that it has a pittza oven but this is not fit for use, moss and cob webs and mud in the opening. Could not be used. Apart from this our stay was ok. Contacted Sykes after our stay regarding these issues, but the owner and Sykes are not interested.

Charlotte

We stayed over Christmas at Adderstone Cottage what an incredible stay we had. The pictures dont do the cottage justice, it was incredibly well equipped and comfortable. It was quiet and peaceful without being too far from local amenities, we visited Bamburgh, Alnwick, Cragside and Holy Island easily during our stay. The beds were all very comfy, the tv in the lounge and field view bedroom had the full sky tv package and the WiFi worked well. We cant recommend this cottage enough. Hopefully we will return in 2026. Thank you for your hospitality Judith and Colin.

We could not have been happier with our stay at Adderstone cottage! Extremely comfortable and inviting with a superbly equipped kitchen. We loved spending time in the conservatory watching the deer and bird life. The layout of the bedrooms is ideal for multigenerational holidays. The location, near to beautiful, wild beaches, could not be better.

Elizabeth

We visited Northumberland in August. The cottage is fantastic. Really nicely presented. It had everything we could have wanted. Lovely location as well, really nice to be able to sit out in the garden and star gaze. It was really close to so many great places and activities as well, which made for easy days out important with two kids, two dogs and grandparents Couldnt recommend it enough. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

The cottage was in an ideal location. Very peaceful. It had everything we required, it was like home from home. The beds were extremely comfortable. I have been coming to Northumberland for my holidays for the past 35 years and this cottage was the best that I have stayed in for a long time.

Fabulous cottage in a lovely setting. One thing I would recommend is to have door screens fitted on both conservatory doors to stop wasps and insects flying in. Thank you.

Hilary

This property was outstanding in terms of comfort and facilities.

We had a wonderful time at Adderstone cottage A very spacious comfortable cottage with everything you could possibly need Great base for exploring the nearby beaches Enclosed areas for our 2 whippets The conservatory was a great space to have meals. Read relax and listen to music First visit but hopefully not our last. Loved every minute

Location was spot on. Cottage was amazing. Lovely garden. Lot of time spent in the conservatory looking out over the sheep field. More than ample parking for our estate car. Definitely one to return to.

Our fourth stay and the cottage is as delightful as ever. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely conservatory. Plenty to see and do nearby, but provides a tranquil haven to return to. Adderstone feels like a home from home as it is obviously used and loved by the owners. We had a super week and didnt want to leave.

Our stay in Adderstone cottage was marvellous. It was well equipped with plenty of everything you need and the views out of the end bedroom and the conservatory out over the fields were fantastic. We were very lucky with the weather and had sunshine every day. We would definitely recommend it and hope to go back again. Pete, Claudia, Mike and Les.

This was our first time staying in this cottage and we would definitely book it again. Great location, it's got everything you need, the bed was super comfortable and the cottage was really warm.

Thank you for a fabulous week in this lovely comfortable cottage that provides everything you could possibly need and more! . If you enjoy stunning vast beaches and unspoilt countryside that is steeped in history with its many castles, then Northumberland is definitely the place to visit.

Deborah

Our second stay at Adderstone Cottage and once again, it was a great week. Being lucky with the weather, we managed to use all areas of the cottage we even sat outside in the sunshine one afternoon after a long walk. The conservatory is a brilliant space and was well used for eating, reading, playing games and just listening to the radio. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Likewise the three bathrooms. With 6 adults and 1 dog sharing the space, there was more than enough crockery and cutlery not to mention cooking utensils. It's location just off the A1 means the cottage is ideally placed for visiting all areas in Northumberland. And yet it still has a sense of remoteness as it's outlook is over neighbouring fields.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Adderstone Cottage. It was very clean, spacious, peaceful and we loved the conservatory. Great location for exploring. No washing up clothssponges provided, not the fault of the owners at all who attempted to rectify, but without success. I do think oven gloves would be the one useful addition to an otherwise well stocked kitchen.

Great cottage, the family and the dog loved it. It had every amenity we could think of. Peaceful and a great location I'm a novice with woodburners BBQ's etc, so we didn't use them. I only found the instructions on lighting the wood burner on our last day. A quick guide in the fireplace might be useful. We weren't quite sure if we would have had to clean out the woodburner if we did use it. Also the instructions were to put bed linen in the bath on leaving, but we weren't sure if this meant the whole lot , duvets and pillows etc.

Alison

Perfect location beautiful views and well equipped accommodation. Wonderful holiday

Angelina

We found the cottage comfortable and well equipped. Whilst the garden may be small, we thought it was very pretty and I imagine children may like the little nooks and crannies. The sunroom would benefit from ceiling blinds as it was very hot in there and it did make the lounge and kitchen a bit dark. However, it was a nice extra. The super king bed was very comfy, so often the beds can be the weak area in properties. There were no dishwasher tablets, which was strange as rinse aid and salt. Luckier I had popped a couple in my packing, so not a problem. Overall we had a good week and my husband was delighted to have Sky movies thrown in!

Cant wait to visit again

Allison

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful cosy cottage. My 2 elderly parents loved the stunning sun room and only gripe would be a sliding door on the ensuite as they found it difficult to get in and out. Its in a wonderful location for exploring all the beautiful places but if you have a dog the road outside the cottage is very busy for convenience walks! I would highly recommend this property and we would certainly come back in a heartbeat. we loved it

Everything as described. Easy to find off A1 in a good location for exploring the area. Very peaceful which was just what we wanted. Lovely to watch the sheep out of the conservatory window!

We love it at Adderstone and this was our 3rd stay. The cottage is so comfortable and well equipped, and as soon as we walked through the door we felt at home. Beds are comfy, the cottage is warm and the conservatory is a joy, especially on a sunny morning. Masses to do in the area. Would totally recommend, and already landing next years stay!

Deborah

Adderstone cottage was in the perfect location for us, giving easy access to the places we visited. Our party was 6 adults and it was very well equipped for that number of people. The conservatory was well used for eating our meals but also just sitting and looking at the view. Bedrooms were comfortable, each with a TV so no arguments about programmes to watch. Having 3 bathrooms was also a big plus as each couple had their own. There is a lovely patio area in the garden which I can imagine is perfect in the summer. Would we return? Yes, and have already booked for next year.

Excellent cottage. One of the best equipped we have ever used, both very dog and child friendly. Slight problem with one of the showers the only blip. We enjoyed being in the area very much with easy access to the coast, castles and seafood! We would like to rebook sometime in the future.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location for exploring the area.

Maxine

I would definitely book through Sykes Holiday Cottages again. My father was rushed in to hospital the day before we were due to go on our holiday, when I called Sykes Cottages, the lady I spoke to was fabulous, she had such empathy and was very helpful. We did get to go on our holiday, a day later than booked and I have to say that the cottage did not disappoint, it was lovely, the perfect place for us to rest and recuperate. The cottage was very clean and the way the rooms were presented was like walking into a 5 star hotel. Sitting in the conservatory looking out over the fields every morning and evening was the perfect way to start and end our days. We will definitely stay in this cottage again and would highly recommend it.

Our second visit within a year. This is a very comfortable cottage with great facilities and is very dog friendly. The cottage is warm and cosy we stayed in February and is becoming our home from home retreat! The cottage for us is well situated being a short driving distance to many of the towns, villages and visitor centres in North Northumberland. The owners are very friendly and continue to improve and enrich the cottage's facilitiesequipment. Highly recommended hope to be back soon.

An excellent cottage full of character and charm. The conservatory was an ideal space for family to spend time together. Ideal for 3 families.

This property was just like home, it was very well appointed and comfortable. The appliances and kitchen implements were all top quality as were the towels and bedding. The beds huge and comfy. The garden although small is really nicely planted and I was able to potter around watering and dead heading. The owners have thought of many conveniences to make your stay enjoyable and I would definitely recommend and rebook.

The cottage was excellent. Very clean, everything provided that was needed.Plenty of room, very comfortable settees, the conservatory is very relaxing and the wildlife around is easy on the eye. Very convenient for visiting the beaches and attractions in the area. The gardens are well kept and a pleasure to sit in enjoying the sun! A thoroughly lovely holiday made better with the comforts provided. Thank you owners for sharing your home with us! Will certainly look to book here again if up in the area again!!

A lovely cottage with very fine fittings and equipment. Cooking facilities and utensils extremely good. Lovely location etc and very quiet at night. Most comfortable and spacious.
