The Gardeners Cottage was a lovely and comfortable place to stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others. It is set in lovely grounds with gardens beautifully maintained.

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting. Staff could not have been more helpful. We highly recommend this cottage.

Gardeners Cottage is heavenly. A most beautiful home set in paradise gardens. I would love to have stayed forever. Everything in the cottage is of highest quality, from the furniture and decorations, bathroom & towels, to beds and bedding. Thought and care has been given to every detail, and the kitchen dining area has absolutely everything required to cook a feast, and serve enjoy your food and drinks in style. Outside is a table and garden furniture for summer dining, and a barbecue. Exit via the gate, and it's a short walk to the celebrated rose gardens, lake and crinkle crankle wall. We really enjoyed our stay, and have lovely memories. Thank you.

Wonderful Cottage in amazing grounds. Very comfortable, everything we could possibly require. Good position for visiting all the Peak District has to offer. Booked agdd as in for next year

Gardeners Cottage is beautiful, well presented & had everything we needed for a three generation family break. Amazing well maintained grounds to explore. Nothing was too much trouble. This is our second visit to the Gardeners cottage we were here in October just after it had been refurbished. It was at the same high standard as before. Everything you could possibly need was there, the grounds are fantastic and peaceful. The host was thoughtful and friendly but didn't intrude. There were 5 of us friends plenty of room for us all. I would thoroughly recommend a stay. I am sure we will be back in the near future. Superb.

The upgrade to Gardeners Cottage is amazing. We loved it when we visited 3 years ago but it is even better now. All rooms done to a high spec and the open plan area upstairs makes the cottage much more open and family friendly.

This lovely house exceeded our expectations the location is lovely with good walks and plenty of places to visit, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the kitchen is wellequipped and well laid out. I think a second bin for recycling would have been useful. I'd have liked to have known the following before booking checkout time on the last day is 930, which seems very early. there's no phone signal in the area, though there's free and open WiFi provided. more information on what is provided in the kitchen so I better knew what to bring. the Miners Arms, just down the road, seems to do takeaway pizza, which would have been more convenient than driving to Matlock. It's a nice pub for meals, and worth booking a table.

We so much enjoyed staying in this luxury house. It is peacefully set in amazing shared grounds. Everything worked well, it has a great, well equipped kitchen, and was lovely and warm. We recommend staying here as there so much to do locally. We very much hope to return.

Wow. This is a fabulous cottage, immaculately clean, a real sense of luxury, wonderfully comfortable beds with excellent bedding and sumptuous towels, the kitchen and, in fact, the whole cottage, is equipped with absolutely everything you need, the location is perfect and the views are lovely, such a fabulous time we've already booked to go again

We were overjoyed when we entered the cottage it totally exceeded our expectations. The living area was especially welcoming. The kitchen was so we'll equipt it put mine to shame. It was a home from home. The grounds were lovely and the pub just a 5 minute walk away was a bonus. Thoroughly recommend the Gardeners Cottage. We liked it so much we've rebooked.

Fabulous! Couldnt have asked for better. Were a group of mid40s friends and this was perfect for us. Local walks, small town nearby and Matlock not too far for a night out. I guess the scenery isnt as stunning as further in to the Peak District but its still nice. Theres nothing about the property I would change expect that the door to the master ensuite is on backwards with the lock on the outside and the light switch on the wrong side!

We arrived at Hopton Hall and were overwhelmed by the fantastic condition and facilities of the property, so well equipped. We really enjoyed the comfort and warmth of the cottage. The bedrooms and bathrooms were excellent. Plenty of parking for our three cars. The gardens are brilliant and exceptional, especially the parterre. We had a faultless stay. The property is a credit to the owners Chris and Andi.

Honestly, one of the most beautiful places weve stayed x although it was very rainy over the weekend we made the most of the luxury accommodation and the views x We were a party of six and blown away by the detail and quality of the interior design, furniture and blinds utensils, linen, comfy beds etc. Emma and Spencer were very helpful and welcoming We will definitely return. Xx
